Amusing, but also make you think.

Would you put a chip in your brain to make you focus? I like the idea but i also think humans need to let their mind wander inorder for us to remain a creative society. I think it's also healthy to let your mind wander every now and then. I'd hope you'd be able to choose when it kicks in so you only use it when you really need to focus.

Also, would you replace a healthy organ or limb with an artifical one if it was way more awesome. I'm not sure i would, but where is the line. I wear contacts and have been wearing them 24/7 for like nearly 10 years now. It's part of my life and except for changing them once a month, i totally forget they are there.

In theory it sounds awesome to have a chip in your head that allows you to search/view the web just by thinking it, but it's scary to think how that could be manipulated/hacked.

Anyways, thoughts?

Nope. Don't play games. Well, nothing to any extent since Brood Wars anyways. :)

Well if the scenario you described is of any interest to you, play Deus Ex:HR. Pretty much everything you described is in that game and the issues are explored by the game's storyline very well. It is also a top game. Once you have finished it, go and play the original Deus Ex as well (only if you aren't too bothered by 12 year old visuals and game mechanics).

My views are pretty heavily influenced by Deus Ex and what I saw happen in the game. If humans were able to physically alter themselves and give themselves superhuman strength and abilities it would drive a pretty big wedge between those who were able to afford them and those who couldn't. It is our imperfections that make us human and as soon as we lose those imperfections we become something else and it might not be for the better. I really think the human race would be separated into two groups - the augmented and the non-augmented. I can't really see how that could ever be a good thing.

As for replacing damaged limbs and organs with advanced technology, sure! As long as it was available to everyone.
