Weren't all Grindhouse movies filled with bad acting in the first place so if you were to do a homage to one, like Deathproof, wouldn't you also have bad acting in it? Grindhouse movies were never meant to be Oscar winning movies in the first place so that is what Tarantino was emulating.
Eh. Hasn't pretty much all DiCaprios movies been decent since after Titanic?
The Beach
Gangs of New York
Catch Me If You Can
The Departed
Blood Diamond
Shutter Island
Inception

Thats what i thought, same as the other grindhouse one - planet terror.
Watching Jackie Brown and pretty meh so far but finally have seen that AK47 line about killing every mothefucker in the room or whatever it is.
The movies perhaps, but not him (to me anyway) I see him as a bit like Vin diesal, an actor that doesn't act but Vin has the action bit whereas Dicaprio doesn't.
Actually he is like a male Nicole Kidman, for me anyway, just can't get into his 'acting'.
I disliked leo after titanic, The Departed is one of my fav movie tho and I enjoyed his acting after that. Also didn't mind shutter island.
looking forward to Django - don't mind tarantino movies but he seems to get a bit lost in self indulgent bs sometimes and as such his movies don't really encapsulate or make me want to watch them again. They are more a novelty attraction than a masterpiece. If he wasn't such a wanker he'd probably be a decent film maker but he gets a bit caught up in making 'cool moments' instead of good films.
