I know there is about a 101 of these posts about different headphones out there, but I was just wondering what ones would you guys recommend for gaming.
Currently using Plantronics Gamecon 5.1 but the arm has snapped on the left side from taking off and putting on my fat head, so was thinking of getting a new set.
What would be good?
Would prefer the velvet earpieces over leather, built in mic, built in volume control. Should I go the same again or the 7.1 or are there better out there that you guys use? Willing to pay around the ~$200 mark if they are good and can last awhile and fit my fat head without arms breaking.

I hear audio technica are awesome however never used them. I use Sennheiser HD212 Pro's with a desktop mic. Does the job.

I have the same as TiT but wouldn't recommend them to the OP.
Don't get me wrong they are fantastic headphones but they are hifi equipment and not really designed with games in mind and are overkill if that is what you are primarily purchasing them for.
Games don't have extensively detailed sound, what's important is having a strong bass for explosions and effects which you actually find on cheaper headphones as they tend to overcompensate for average midrange with heavy bass.
I'd probably give Turtle Beach a try. My Brother has a pair, I haven't tried them myself but he reckons they are pretty good and his head is huge.
As for inner ear, I have a set of Sony noise cancelling earphones which are ok but I'm not sure how they match up to Klipsch, Pioneer or Sennheiser, which are probably the only other brands I'd look at from JBhifi.
