nVidia 600 series leaked online

Looking at some of the cards leaked at Lenzfire, it's pretty crazy the specs and performance that's to be expected. I guess nVidia has won this round, and rightfully so, some of those cards sound like a beast.

What I find really interesting is how much in performance the GTX680 beats the ATI 7970, by a whopping 45%. Reckon ATI will be scrambling to reduce prices?

Probably just pull something out that's been in their R&D as well. Duopolies always seem pretty stacked. It's like they have a set plan to work to they have both agreed on.

fanboys rejoin that they can waste an $1k on a video card that wont do anything better than a $400 card
I couldn't think of even one game that a 590 wouldn't play right now?

Hard to believe without seeing any benchmarks. I can't remember such a big jump in performance since the nVidia released the 6000 series, they must have a thing for sixes....

Someone explaing something for me..

Nvidia Kepler GTX690
•750MHz Core clock
•2×1.75 GB 4.5GHz GDDR5 Memory
•2×1024 Stream Processors
•2x448bit Bus Width

Nvidia Kepler GTX680
•850MHz Core clock
•2 GB 5.5GHz GDDR5 Memory
•1024 Stream Processors
•512bit Bus Width

GTX690 is the top model is it not? If so, why does it have a smaller core clock, memory but has 2 bus widths with lets bits(correct term?)

Err isn't that all pretty much just unverified information and theoretical make believe? I think it's too much a coincidence that these big claims come alongside the release of the competitors actual product to be anything other than marketing ploy. Until they have real tests on real cards this theory bullshit isn't worth anyone's time unless you are into palm reading and tea leaves.

Considering both companies previous "new" product lines were just renaming of their old product lines, I wouldn't really take any notice of anything other than real world results.

Also considering that the majority of games are still designed to run on a platform based on the Geforce 8800, (later renamed to the 9800 as if it was a whole new product) you have to wonder what point is there in having the latest and greatest graphics card any more when the budget versions are already well beyond the spec's required to run todays games.

Awesome, this is the series of cards I've been holding off an upgrade for. PCIe3.0 compliant cards which will go quite nicely with an Ivy Bridge build when the boards become available as well.

Damo its because the 690 is pretty much 2 x 680 together with less core clock and memory. the reason for that would be heat...

Tit, that's understandable about the heat.

This is where I fail to understand some companies. They release products which are meant to be faster than previous but barely are. Would it not be more logical to maybe do some more R&D so they can have higher core/memory on the 690 with less heat issues?

Its essentially SLI on one card, I think its going to run hot no matter how much R&D you do

Ok so it's decided then. I'm waiting for the 600 range before I ditch my shitty 6990 and never go back to ATI again.
