After being disappointed by knowing that operation repo is fake, I'm more skeptic and I'm wondering if Dr Phil's stories are actually real, or made up Jerry Springer styles.
Err Jerry Springer is not made up dude. You can't fake a girl cock on a midget.
Seriously though it isn't made up. Some of the people on it might be lying to get on it, but that's about it. PEOPLE HAVE BEEN MURDERED AFTER BEING ON JERRY SPRINGER. These people are truly fucked up.
Omfg. Please tell me you didnt fall for that for long? I saw an ad for it and thought FUCK YEAH but soon after watching it i realised it was fake. The confrontations you could tell cause the 'bad' guys had chances to hurt the good guys but didnt. And there was a bit of pausing and wait for the dude to do the next move. Kinda like WWE where you see em wait for the scene to act out.
Dont think jerry springer is made up. Its just fucked up people and fucked up situations. Same as doctor phil. Reality TV like kardashians and jersey shore i wonder how much is real and how much is heavily edited / scripted.
Dr Phil is Real.
Ive got the Dr Phil book Self Matters, very interesting book about Human behaviours. Behaviour is the symptom, What motivates ppl to carry out their behaviour is what he deals with.
No doubt some of Springers guests are scammers but Dr Phil is straight up.
He does has a Phd in clinical psychology, but he's still a bit of a crank. He dishes out 'bumper sticker' style advice on TV, and doesn't provide the sort of treatment for patients you would expect from a psychologist.
I also wept when I found out operation repo was fake.
Awww it's all fake? Even when Matt got kicked in the balls, tasered and pissed himself and the blonde chick spewed on his leg? And Froy getting punched the fuck out by the bikers?
Obviously some of the repos where set-up but didn't think they all were :(
Bear Swamp Recovery is obviously all set-up.
I don't know if it's scripted or not, but I do know Dr. Phil isn't actually a doctor.
Yeah I suspect Dr. Dre isn't either. Not sure on Dr. Seuss.
After starting CSI, McGraw ceased the practice of psychology. He maintained his license current and in good standing until he elected to retire it 15 years later in 2006.[18] Appearing on the Today Show in January 2008, McGraw said that he has made it "very clear" that his current work does not involve the practice of psychology. He also said that he had "retired from psychology".[19] According to the Today Show, the California Board of Psychology determined in 2002 that he did not require a license because his show involves "entertainment" rather than psychology.[19] McGraw's license is currently listed by the Texas State Board of Psychology as "retired"
There is a disclaimer at the beginning of the show(Operation Repo) which says: "The stories that are portrayed in this program are based on real events.

don't forget, rolling a towed vehicle because he was driving to fast and needed to take a dump.
He retired his license in 2006 apparently.
The Goods
According to Texas State Law, McGraw could still be open to a charge of practicing without a license in Texas, since his show is broadcast in that state.
He is also fat and tells other fat people they need to lose weight right?
Also those pawn shows are fake as well, i kinda thought there might be some truthiness to them but read a few articles like this http://centraltendencies.com/2011/03/pawn-stars-is-fake/ , not that the shows were that great anyway, just something to pay half-attention to in the background.
You bastard bah, ruined one of my favourite shows :( I don't think I'll be able to watch it again.
Obviously they're not real walk-ins but I always assumed people with interesting items contacted the show and the producers put it together... maybe the negotiation was also real but at the worst they figured out the price beforehand and the negotiation was just fluff.
There's some serious trickery going on it seems :(
^ yeah I assumed that they'd get peeps coming in with interesting stuff and they'd ask them to come back at a certain time when the cameras are there. And give them something to sweeten the deal.
Obviously they wouldn't have a crew hanging around all day on the off chance something interesting comes in... hmmmm tele is teh dodgy but Pawn Stars is way better then Hardcore Pawn.
Obviously they wouldn't have a crew hanging around all day on the off chance something interesting comes in
Um thats the reason they started these "reality" shows wasn't it, it's cheaper to hire a couple of guys to follow some people around all week than hire script writers and all that extra crap for proper shows, i guess it's come full circle where it's now cheaper to hire half arsed script writers and a camera guy for a couple of days.
One of the most controversial and popular shows on TLC's roster has been revealed to be largely staged, with its diminutive subjects and their mothers not receiving a penny for their starring roles.
Toddlers and Tiaras, a real-life documentary covering the never-dull antics of America's child pageant scene, follows the ups and downs of a host of tiny beauty queens as they take on the performance circuit.
Maxine Tinnel, a pageant organiser, told the New York Post that much of the series' action is highly manipulated, choreographed and contrived, with certain mother-and-daughter duos chosen for their eccentricity.
