note to cod haters: I know it is hard to resist the urge to take a shit on anything related to cod but some people still play and enjoy it so could you do me a favor and take it to a shitty cod thread like this one. Before anyone bothers I also asked about posting this beforehand.
In case you haven't seen me spamming YouTube links before: Rather than posting sick games set to dub-step I try to break down some games and explain why I do what using the YouTube Annotations editor to illustrate my point instead of covering up the video. I'm not amazing at twitch games by nature but I've gotten decent by over-analyzing how I play. Hopefully you can get something out of it. I have embedded the "Post-Mortem" playlist so all seven I have done so far are accessible from the player below.
A buddy and I used to play like this on MW but regularly got kicked for "hax" when our scores got too high. It was too easy on pub servers with the right combo of perks. Do you find yourself getting kicked as well?

Had a few of those myself, but thanks to the lack of proper player-hosted dedi's, they can't actually kick you anymore lol. I suppose there's one upside to shithouse servers, eh?
Though it's not been a problem in the Blops, the one game they could actually kick me. Had a few accusations, but most of the time you can tell from the killcams that I'm not.
hax? jeez, in cod 4 people regularly get over 100 kills without using hax, in mw2 /3 you'd get accused of hacking if you had over 20 kills at the end of the map.
I've started throwing caution to the wind and shoot people through walls now. Sick of campers sitting there picking me off so I grab some huge gun and just spray their favourite spots. Lots of wallhackusations. lolumadbro?
here's me getting accused of aimbots, some retards have never heard of a UAV
An AR (automatic rifle) is not an assault rifle like the AN-94 at the start of your vid. Confused me as you say in the first annotation that this map is best for AR's.... while not using an AR. Annnd that as far as my interest got. But what's your point about better annotations? They are all the same, if you want better annotations then buy a quality microphone.
No microphone can adequately convey this much information on its own. Maybe if I was being paid full time to do these I would be willing to spend every waking hour in Photoshop making up a set of graphics to imitate youtube annotations in premiere pro so that I could dub over a commentary track with on screen markups like a sports broadcast but I have to be somewhat efficient with my time.
As for the spergtastic way you freaked out over my confusion about the correct designation of the an-94, take a chill pill mate. Why don't you explain the difference between an Automatic Rifle and an Assault Rifle instead of just havin' a dummy spit?
Op vid just got lucky a hell of a lot. If someone was cross flanking like i like to do, they would of killed you at least 20 times in that vid. Also, reflex sight (small dot default) is a must imo. Would like to see your theory on a smaller and/or more exposed map. i.e hijacked and carrier. Your system obviously works as you have a nice K:D ratio and will employ some of your radar tactics to stop being knifed in the back so much. cheers :)
No doubt and I try to explain why in cod 'luck' is made by how you play as much as it is driven by pure chance. I basically try to play a certain way in each video so various play styles can get something out of them.
Currently doing annotations for a round of DOM on Yemen using an un-silenced SCAR (so you suck enemies towards you intentionally) And I have a couple carrier games recorded that I want to edit together to show how you can move around with good mid range sightlines without exposing to sniper sightlines but I gotta finish other shit first.

What? It takes like 30 seconds to put annotations on stuff in vegas (that's not counting however long it takes you to type out the actual text).
Didn't bother watching OP video all the way through either, every time an annotation came up, the video stopped playing and I had to keep hitting the play button. Not sure if youtube broken or that's something you've set? Either way, it's annoying. You're better off making a freeze frame in premiere and putting your text on that freeze frame.

I set all the pauses to something absurd like 2-5 mins so that people can read at their own pace, it really isn't that hard to click the mouse anywhere in the video window when you are ready to move on, whoop.
The problem with your suggestion is that it would be nigh impossible to get someone to start watching a 100min long video on youtube and even more stupid to force viewers into randomly skipping along the progress bar to get past the pause in the video as opposed to just hitting play.
It is not ideal but I have thought about it and tried to present the information in the most easily absorbed format I can come up with. The other thing with voice commentary is that half the people on youtube sound like dickheads and as much as I hope I have a cool, charismatic voice... really what are the chances?
lol you mad bros? I simply meant if you want a way to better communicate your point, say it. And actually I differentiate the AR from assault rifles in games because of America's Army, not Arma. Arcadey enough for you ensaka?
Whoop. For me, the vid pauses on the annots long enough for you to read then keeps playing. All except one, when he goes on about turning the mic on and raging at the enemy.
Cheers for vids. For me, its just about working out where enemy respawns. I have the most 'luck' in slums, turbine, raid and standoff. And ill say it again. reflex sight is great. Lets you see over the gun a bit better than just standard sight. Its all about headshots for me, so your low aiming style doesnt suit. Loving this thread btw.
I used to ALWAYS use a red dot in MW2 because the iron sights were so god damn atrocious but I have slowly gotten better and better with the irons to the point where it doesn't make a huge difference for me anymore. There are attachments that are way more vital IMO (Stock especially) and with the addition of specialist in mw3 and now greed wildcards, I would much rather put points into perks than scopes/sights.
But of course, like all cods, the best load-out in the game is whatever works for you. Oddly enough my highest KD weapon is the QBB using stock, fastdraw and silencer. It probably has the best iron in the game except for maybe the scar/mtar.

except that they popped up every few seconds, and I'm one of those people who multitasks, so I'll be watching a video while also doing other stuff.
That'd be like me having to keep pushing a button on the dash of my car every few seconds to keep it going. Sure, it only takes a second but it's fucking annoying.

l2speed read. Takes me like half a second to read that shit yo.
on a side note is anyone playing anything other than team dm anymore? fuck I'd love to play some KC and S&D but no longer find any matches, ever :(
christ yes, this is so annoying.
Whenever I get the urge to play late at night sometimes you can only get into tdm and every time I just can't get over how much worse than KC it is. Harder to get streaks alone should make the avg player way more excited for it compared to tdm and I rage quit after one match cause of all the camping. KC was a pretty ingenious way to reduce camping while basically maintaining the roots of the tdm gametype, I just wish more of the community would realize it.
Nice. See my comments have all been based on TDM. Only way i can play other games is by going to core/bonus/nuketown map. They mix the games up there and occasionally have a KC match.
Most of all I wish more people would play the party game lists. It is so weird that gun game is so popular in CS but nobody touches it in cod... I really like one in the chamber but NOBODY (like 60 people globally) plays the fucken thing.

That's the problem with p2p games. If there's no one in the lobby / lists, no one will sit & wait for others to arrive, so no one plays. Also the sheer number of different modes means everyone is off doing their own thing. They need to go back to dedicated servers, have one mode of game play, and allow mods so people who want other modes, can make them up themselves.
The dumbest thing is that they actually use dedicated servers for games in blops2. (with peer-peer lobbies - wtf) They just wont let fucken go of whatever backend they are using as DRM/to organise lobbies.
I used to ALWAYS use a red dot in MW2 because the iron sights were so god damn atrocious...
To be blunt, I stopped playing MW2 when I learned that using things like red dot scopes actually changed the weapons base stats (it actually changes the weapons base accuracy instead of being, y'know a cosmetic preference and perhaps adding a little 'zoom' to ADS.)
Happy to hunt you down and end you in a game of Viet Cong if you like a challenge ;)

Maybe I am miss-interpreting what you are saying but this will hopefully help explain it a bit to those that don't already know... This is because of how accuracy is worked out when aiming down sights, not because it actually changes the guns stats per-say.
To really generalize across all cods since at least mw2: before you ADS your bullets basically stay within a cone roughly inside the area the crosshairs show when hip-firing. (and the faster you fire from the hip the bigger this cone gets) When you aim down sight, your accuracy increases (ie. that cone shrinks) until all bullets hit where the red dot says they will - and then starts expanding again based on recenter speed.
So. The tighter you can make that initial cone (with attachments) the more accurate all rounds coming out of your gun will be. This is why it has always been better to start firing at the same time you aim down sight rather than once the animation ends.
