Hey guys, I've recently gotten back into playing Mount & Blade and looked into mods to download and have a crack at. So far I would highly recommend 1866 A Mount & Blade Western mod as it is absolutely incredible. It is for the original Mount & Blade which is pretty surprising, link here - http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,166156.0.html

Other mods which I've tried are Anno Domini 1297 for Warband which is pretty massive - http://www.moddb.com/mods/anno-domini-1257.

Do you have any good mods you would recommend?

So I bought a Mount and Blade pack ages ago. Should I not bother with Mount and Blade and just play Warband or are they both worth playing?

Warband is pretty much an improved Vanilla Mount and Blade. I would recommend playing Warband and then move onto mods for both.

Native Expansion for Warband is one that keeps most of original material but adds alot of good upgrades. I couldn't go back to vanilla.

Agreed. I havent played much of fire and sword but it seems to add a variety of new units, weapons, gameplay but its quite different to warband IMO.

I reached end game of warband and wasn't quite sure how to finish the game, as the enemy always found 1 little place to capture. It's a fun game regardless

Another one for Warband to check out is the Floris Mod Pack - http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php?board=197.0

I've been playing 1866 and I must say it's one of the best mods I've played. I might try out the Star Wars Conquest mod - http://www.moddb.com/mods/swconquest or even the The Last Days (of The Third Age of Middle Earth) mod - http://www.moddb.com/mods/the-last-days
