Howdy. My mates and I play L4D2 and there seams to be someone that comes int our games and three things happen.

- He changes his name 3-5 times a second to match our names, over and over again.
- He changes to a melee weapon and moves faster then us / teleports around
- He repeatedly kills us over and over again

Has anyone had this happen before? The only counter-measure i've been able to do is perform a vote-kick at the exact time he changes to my name so i can vote my name in the list (which must be him) but the name changes so quickly that it's near impossible.

I've sent reports to the 3FTL admins other server admins but he keeps coming back every night.

Does anyone know a way we can kick this guy? Or a way we can defend against it? Or even what it is?

Is it just someone with a few keybinds setup for greifing or is it more like a automated bot/program that allows him to do this?

Can you vote kick him from the menu?
If there are at least two of you and one of him, you should be able to kick him every time.

No way to create a private game?

so this guy joins your games day after day? you sure the dude isn't on your friend lists? maybe that's how he knows you're playing and joins your game to grief you.

report to valve?

Couldn't you find his steam id on your recently met list and report him that way? I'd suggest some video evidence too if your reporting someone.

ravn0s - That's a bloody good point. Going to clean out my steam friends list tonight and take note of who is online when it happens.

Hogfather - I know but I only have 1-2 mates, we need a public person to join for proper 4 player realism + expert mode. So need the game on public.

Marlinblade - I've enabled a console. Does anyone know the command to list a users steam ID?

Minxy - Glad someone else knows of this! I've spoken to alot of people (8-10?) on public L4D2 servers and they all claim it's happened to them as well. Yes your correct - the server does crash sometimes when this happens and we need to remake it. That's what makes me think they are using something other then the normal game client - such as a program or bot.

If he's using hacks to teleport around the map maybe you can record him then send a video to Valve and they can ban his account? I think people used to do that in CS 1.6 somehow ages ago.
