Oceanic Battle.net server petition

As many of you are aware it is high time we had our own Battle.net server. I know online petitions are not necessarily the greatest force for change, but I think it is better than doing nothing and just whinging about it. Once we get a decent number of signatures I'll post this on reddit, then it is on to Blizzard!

We don't need local servers. Just put some speed holes in the side of your computer if you want a lower ping.

Actually Internode have been offering for a few years now, but thus far no one has struck a deal. The biggest question is why can EA and Bioware "afford" Oceanic server for Star Wars: The Old Republic (which funny enough have a very large amount of people playing), yet Blizzard can not?

Why would they need servers an aussie game news service gave them 9.2 out of 10!

Yeah there is very little motivation for them to get Oceanic servers when there are so many Aussies that will vehemently defend their laggy games.

I honestly don't think they will do anything, even if we get a million sigs. That said however, I might as well sign it in the hope that it will just get their attention.

If no Australian ever bought a blizzard product again, would they even notice? I guess a clerk somewhere might see a discrepancy.

I decline to sign with my wallets. Blizzard despite this horrible plan still makes games which are more addictive and worth it's dollars even with the terrible online slowness.

If the game was that good and was hosted on my computer with that lag inbuilt, id still buy it and call it a glitch but still a good fundamental game well worth my dollars.

It's sad and true but i admit i have no legs to stand on. I'll sign the petition because i hope that they'd consider their fans, but frankly they think australia has a population of about 15 people and the ISP's want 10000000 dollars. (even despite ISP's offering them supercheap deals because they know they'd instantly get a huge subscriber base migrate to their contracted plans which would offset the hosting costs).

I think Blizzard's all too aware of their Australian userbase:

1) See the response to GAME Australia pre-orders
2) The forum over at the D3 site dedicated to Aust/NZ players
3) Steve F. et al, continutally nagging them in interviews about AU servers :)
