Interesting. New MMO and TV Series based around same world. And as the season progresses, the game and show interconnect and alter eachother. So what happens during a big battle in the game, could change the story line of the show.

Now that is a great way to combine multi-media. I'll keep an eye on this one.

Very cool idea, but I'm a little skeptical as to how the game is going to have a significant impact on the show. I mean, unless it's a sandbox like EVE, what world-shaping events are the players really going to be able to achieve without the developers setting everything up in advance?

I guess if they set up little skirmish matches between factions and there are different outcomes depending on who wins. It's not huge, but I suppose it might be enough to keep it interesting.

Interesting concept! Im in support for this kind of thing to be tested and i wish them all the best. :)

Hope it goes well but if it doesn't then it's still a bit of a fun experiment.

I don't really see how this is going to work. CCP are mixing things up with Eve Online and Dust 514. I think that will fail too. So I don't see how this is going to work...

From what I've seen so far I think EVE will do just fine with implementing Dust 514 into the environment. PS3 players get to control planetary combat while EVE players control outer-space combat and lending a hand by shooting missiles to planets.

From an Eve POV it looks boring. You just float about the planet and when they call a target you push F1 through F8 and fire your guns. For the FPS players it might be exciting I suppose. I am still to be sold on the tactical benefits of using FPS mercenaries to wage warfare on what I assume will be the planetary mining facilities. but I guess we'll see how that works out.

Well, if i were the writers, I'd do this:

1) Tell the developers to put in an event that you liked the idea of,
2) watch to see how the event plays out
3) write a story about the event with the conclusion that happened because of how the players made it happen
4) profit.
