It's laggy as I have no idea where the server is located and being beta 1.2 it's still very buggy but something very interesting to keep an eye on.

I thought Nintendo was pretty fast to shut down most/all of these in the past? Is this one that's slipped through, or have Nintendo just let it be? (Seems unlikely)

i played pokemononline back when it was running then nintendo shut them down quick smart.

now they are a text based battle thing.
