Ok, yes I know there is already a post about this game and it was made in '03 so thought I'd make a fresh one.
Anyone here play both the TC game and/or the PC game? A mate was telling me about it today and we decided to go get some cards this weekend to check it out, I bought the PC game from steam today and find it pretty fun even tho I can't beat the first guy yet while still learning the game.
Can I get some recommendation about what decks to buy and where is best place to get them from?

The main store in Brisbane (and unfortunatly Australia wide) is Good Games.
Here are the details for the Brisbane store:
Good Games

The guy that is the franchisee (Corey) is a pretty good guy that knows his stuff.

Another place to look at is Ace Comics at Annerley.

Blast from the past - I still have a stash of Magic Cards (somewhere.. not sure where though) from when I collected them, which was the early/mid 90's in Primary School! Didn't realise they had a computer game out now

Yeah I got a bunch of these from the 90's too. Cheez you can probably pick up thousands of em for free from people like us who just have them laying about. I think ebay is full of people offloading them too.

Well if anyone wants to offload some of their old stash for free, I will be willing to take them. And yeah the PC version is available from steam, each pack is worth a couple bucks or just do what I done and buy the lot in some steam package deal for ~$35.

I just sold a large part of my collection, i would advise anyone that has some "old cards laying around" to actually look up what they may be worth these days.

Those guys have pretty good deals on buying bulk card lots. Perfect to get a stack of cards to make decks out of for casual play.

I bought 1600 from them for family lolz. I was happy with it.

Um, i play both versions casually on steam they're a great way to pass the time before sleeping (3-4 minutes).

I don't mind the game which is why i forked out the cash for essentially an update to the 2011 or whatever version.

The computer game version is kind of unlike the card version, simply because most of the thrill on the card version is about building a deck - which isn't possible in the computer version, you can modify one of the premade decks by pulling out a small proportion of the deck.

Computer version is a good intro into the card version, but the card version gets expensive quickly. I have zero cards, but a few friends were into it when they were younger and i used to borrow a deck.

I have always been facineated by card games like this. I played the old PC demo version years ago for a few weeks. I have the new steam version aswell. I could not beat the first NPC I played, I got owned pretty well.

Just beat him then, was pretty close tho, his 2 1/1's vs my 1 5/5 he slowly chipped away at me until I got him to -3 in the end and I had 2 life left.

After this thread I ended up grabbing a 1600 card starter from mtgmintcard along with some land packs and looking to rebuild up my old hellkite deck in addition to nicols balos

The PC game is pretty good, been playing that with mates. I do play the TC game, but have gone off it for a bit. Last semester at uni we use to play everyday. QUT has their own group everyday in S block, level 4. There is a few stores around Brisbane, but do not for the love of god go to the comic book store on Queen St Mall. The dude who runs it is a absolute dickhead, and screams The Simpsons Comic Book Guy.

I WINRAR!

I found the 1600 card deck to be pretty good, not too many multipals of 1 card, and the ones that where are pretty useful to have 2 or so in your deck anyway.

I did find 2 sets of cards of 5, even though they said max of 4. Not to matter.
