I'm a Body Guard, however I'm only level 22.

I've found myself getting into groups very easily, Healers are in demand most of the time, the body guard can also provide decent DPS if healing isn't required.

I just made it to level 50 last night, only the last few talents were off bodyguard, and those to enhance healing etc from the other trees.

I didn't have any major issues, although I was destroyed in world PVP. Unsure if this is the spec or just that I'm a dumbshit at world PVP.

You'll have no problems until your late 30s / 40s as Mako is an excellent companion and wearing heavy armour you can tank well through most of the levelling game.

I found that around 40 things were getting tough and I was a having to heal myself a lot which got dicey with interrupts and was generally a bit shit. As soon as I got Blizz and and Skadge I switched from tanking myself to letting them do it. Skadge was the best fit for me because I choose a lot of dark side stuff.

Once I got a tank companion it was pretty cruisy. Remember to upgrade their gear, but with Skadge its easy as your Aim Heavy gear is usually pretty good for him. If you want to make him an uber tank get some tank specific gear (+defense etc) but I found my hand me downs were adequate.

You will find a few things with the UI clunky though, but they are the problems you need to work around as a healer anyway so you may as well get onto them now :)

yeah i was wondering what is it like soling missions? do you find you often need help or can you do all your missions without help?

I did quite a few HEROIC 2 missions on my own. You need to have good companion control and CC awareness but its doable. I found it easier to just tag peole for heroics though, if you stick your head up in /1 as a healer you will get them done easily.

I only had one normal boss where I called in help, and lots of people have trouble with the end boss in Voss.

Yes, aim is primary for all Bounty Hunters.

You also want Power and Crit.

34 merc at the moment. surprisingly, I found it easier to get into a flashpoint as arsenal :P Really fun spec though. The idea of shooting at players to heal them is awesome. i'll probably end up doing that spec end game.
You can solo a fair few heroics and even then, getting a group for heroic as a healer is stupidly quick. it's a shame they don't give BH the range tank a bit earlier (is it blizz? the jawa)

glynd - at lower levels people are still thinking they will choose to be healers or tanks. By 50 this thins out quite a bit :P

Bodyguard healing is really good though, once you get all the skills you need you have a huge number of tools making you an effective PVP or PVE healer.

Whats the tank/heals action like?

I'll be checking this game out soon and I have pretty much played all roles into raiding back in my WoW days.

Welcome to tarp glynd; you don't need to raid anyway, we have lots of shit going on :)

Tanking and Healing plays a lot like WoW thunder. I have more arguments with the UI than problems with the role!

if you're interested in good companions... never play an inquisitor... by 40 your best companion is an incredibly fruity archaeologist (healer) that just consistently throws out the punsiest remarks non stop...

'Are we dead? OMG!!! YAY!!! WE WON!'

I used Quinn a fair bit, even though you don't strictly need the heals for a lot of fights, you have absolutely no down time when using him. Then when I corrupted the jedi padawan chick I used her for a while because she absolutely loved it when I did evil stuff. When stuff started getting harder though around Voss and Corellia I went back to Quinn but then I just couldn't stand using him after

Spoiler:
you find out he is still working for Baras and he betrays you and tries to kill you. I wanted to kill the cunt after he did that, I force choked him but I didn't have the option to outright kill him, I had to forgive him, which I thought was a little bit lame.

I geared up Pierce and started using him for a while as DPS, but now I'm using Broonmark cos he just wasn't getting any love and I felt sorry for him.

Yeah, Vette's is the most fleshed out story, as you go through your companions you can see where they started running out of time to make the stories good though. Pierce's story is pretty much just "I want to get my black ops squad back together so we can go attack a fortress on Corellia", and then when he finally goes to do the attack, you don't even get to go along, you just talk to Pierce and he goes "Oh yeah, we took the fort, everything is good now" and thats the end.

By the time you get to Broonmark, he has no story at all. I'm up to about 6000/10000 affection with Broonmark and the few conversations I've had with him haven't consisted of much more than him going "I like how you kill things, teach me how to kill good like you" and me going "Yes, you are becoming good at killing".

so say i was thinking of buying this... is it as much of a time sink as wow is? would i have to do stupid things like play 28 hours a day just to get somewhere? (wrt grinding) or can i play it without giving up /all/ of my spare time?

also would my 4gig ram
core 2 e8400 3ghz and radeon hd 4800 series have much trouble running it? or is it finally time to upgrade?

you could do both. storyline is really compelling and you could just play it like a single player popping in an hour or so a day. I'm actually really looking forward to levelling a new character when I reach 50.

the grinding really doesn't start until 50 when you're trying to get pvp and pve gear.

i've bloody got 4 pvp relic gear tokens in a row. i can only use 2 ffs. wish we could turn duplicate tokens into commendations.
