Please help with origin log in issue

Hi Guys,

Ive just purchased BF3 and have experienced massive log in issues with Origin. My internet connection has this image in my task bar:

and although steam, utorrent, chrome and everything else works perfectly with the internet, retarded origin thinks im disconnected from the net and either doesnt log in or logs in offline. Ive tried a fuckload of fixes from this EA forum thread (http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/7576794.page) and from other google searches with very little success.

Only twice in the last 24 hours ive been able to get the network connection image to display the way origin wants it (without the little exclamation mark) and it seems to have something to do with disabling other networks (Hamachi for my minecraft server in my case) and also setting the default gateway of TCP/IPv4 which are both explained below:

Internet Connection Not Detected:
If you are connected to the internet, but you keep getting error messages about Origin needing to be connected to the internet. Look at your System Tray and highlight your network connectivity Icon
You may see something similar to this in your system tray or a message stating your network is not connected.

Disabling Extraneous Network Connections: Navigate to Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network and Sharing Center > change adapter settings > right click on connection and disable. You can then try disabling every other network connections besides your main internet connection(i.e. hamachi, wireless, etc..).

Here is an FAQ with an advanced workaround for this issue

I havent been able to isolate what fixes the problem as ive tried a tonne of fixes and nothing seemed to work then i left my pc for a while and when i came back the icon had changed. Logged into origin, redeemed BF3 code, DLed it then had to update vid card drivers so I restarted my PC and once it was restarted, the network icon was fucked again and ive tried all the fixes again without success.

I hope somebody here has had similar origin issues and has a different fix to try.

Im running Win 7 64bit, with no firewall, Hamachi is closed and its connection is disabled, ive got avast antivirus.

Im fucking raging hardcore cause i dont see how origin can be so fail when every other program i have works fine with my network icon as is.

UPDATE:
Tried setting static IP address after calling telstra for details. Set TCP/IPv4's IP address, subnet, default and preferred DNS and after approx 5mins the network icon has corrected itself. Internet still works fine and will see if this fix stays fixed.

That issue I would imagine would be a windows thing - not a bf3 thing. That is the icon for "limited or no connectivity" which generally means you've connected to a network/hub/switch/router but there is no internet connection connected to it.

For me I have issues where my machine shows limited or no connectivity - yet I can use steam chat and play online but my web browser doesn't work. Resetting my router always fixes it for me though. When I explaining it to a networking mate he said it sounds like a spanning tree problem or something but I have yet to act on it.

Thats the thing though. Although i have the icon, everything (multiple browsers, utorrent, steam etc) all work fine. Only origin thinks im not connected to the web. Origin's problem IMO.

I used to occasionally have limited connectivity issues with TPG at my old place and IIRC, it was simply a matter of calling TPG to correct their settings or reconfigure my modem. This isnt the case here.

Davo, the system you're running origin on is also reporting that there is limited or no connectivity. fixing this should fix your origin problem.

just because other stuff works doesn't mean its a problem with origin.

have you tried rebooting your router? what is your IP address set to? perhaps internet is working over ipv4 and ipv6 is what BF3 uses and for whatever reason isn't working?

but more than likely avast has a firewall running or is somehow blocking the service.

i doubt its a problem with origin, you've basically said that when windows says your network is functioning properly origin works.

do you have to open a port via your modem or router for this?

maybe you need to and also on avast?

In essence, windows sends a ping and doesn't get a reply to the server it pinged, and even though 99.99% of your stuff works, probably origin pings the same stupid server.

I dunno but you could also try changing your stuff like your DNS,

Change it to like 8.8.8.8 see what happens. Probably nothing.

Been working for approx 3 hours now even with hamachi working. Seems the static ip with the set figures did the trick for some reason.
