If you haven't been to a EB Games Store recently you wouldn't know what EB Games World is. I had the pleasure of winning a bet with a mate, the result was that the winner would pay for the others MW3 pre-order in full, so we hopped on down to our local EB.

EB Games have launched a customer loyalty program, EB Games World.

We're doing things a little differently to other 'loyalty' programs, that reward you a little for doing a lot.

As a member you'll get some great benefits right off the bat, as well as earning points (called carrots) every time you trade, preorder or buy at EB Games.

As you collect more and more carrots, you'll work your way up the levels of EB World and score even greater perks.

So how do you earn points? [Carrots]

It's a pretty simple concept, but the carrots work as experience points, the more you collect the higher level you obtain.
There a 4 tiers or levels of the loyalty program each with their "perks".

You can earn carrots by:

The Level perks:

If you subscribe to Game Informer for 12 months ($29.95) you get boosted to level 3.

Still not worth shopping at EB as all that savings at level 4 could easily be done in 1 hit by buying from ozgamesshop or something.

$4750 (Four Thousand, Seven Hundred and Fifty Dollars) seems like a hell of a lot of money to spend to get a few (rather week) perks.

I'll stick to getting 3~4x times the amount of games instead.

Its perfect for the 10-16 age group who only shop at be with the parents.
My littlest brother(13) is at EB Games every second week returning a game he has finished for another one.
He would spend $1000 - $2000 at EB a year.

Verily this. Makes you wonder what the hell EB marketing team were thinking.

Maybe this year it's the carrot approach, next year it'll be the stick approach where if you don't buy from EB they'll hide around the corner from GAME and JB and beat your head in or something.

Another loyalty program that they'll start up and then forget about inside 2 months.
I have two completely separate 'VIP' type cards from EB, both which I heard absolutely nothing about after buying whatever it came with (one was from when I bought the Wii).

Fuck you EB, once again pushing their second hand trade-in games over new games by offering double the points for buying a preowned copy.

Also, I love how one of the 'perks' is that you can rate and review games for their website. What a bonus! Getting to review games on a website is a perk now, I guess Ausgamers will be happy to hear that, means they can stop paying Steve, he should be happy just to be allowed to review games. It is its own reward apparently.

My console mate at work is the same. He is 19 and buys all games @ EB and preorders most. Happily pays the rip off price cause of the preorder bonus you get instore. Plus he has the hots for the EB chick. lol. And he subscribes to the magazine so he will be level 3 in no time.

Really there's two main forms of persuasion: The carrot, or the stick. Personally I'm giving EB the stick.

I got this stupid sheet thing about this when I bought from there last.
Speaking of which, believe it or not, but I picked up Red Orchestra 2 for $28! Not too shabby considering at the time it was $40 on Steam. Then the Christmas sale comes along and trollface.jpgs me.
Oh well.
