Try filtering them out mate and select only battlefield 3, and yeah, I've noticed heaps of old map servers up now that everyoens gotten over b2k. My filter settings:
Game - both selected (though you just select BF3 if you dont have B2K)
Region - oceania, make sure you tick NZ because you can get good pings there still
Preset - Normal and HC (IO is for fagots)
Detailed - Ranked and Punkbuster
Game Size - 24, 32 and Other (64 players are for fagots though might help you find more games).
Free Slots - 1-5 and 6-10
Mode - Rush, Conquest (the others are for fagots though have their merrits).
Maps - none selected

Yeah, but you can also include B2K servers with the old maps. That's what I've been doing to increase servers. I just move on when the new maps come on. There's the city map which I like. That goes off. The rest are meh.
Had so much fun last night, in a squad with some guys on TS, smashing every vehicle on the map with the SOFLAM and Javelin's, most fun I have had in ages smashing full choppers and chasing down jets with Javelins.
We had a squad of 4 guys, 2x Engi's with Javelins, 1x Support for Ammo and a recon guy on the other side of the map with the SOFLAM = EPIC FUN!
Not a bug I don't think. If a Jav is laser guided it isn't a direct shot at you (if you look as the missile is shot it goes straight up in the air), thus it doesn't list the missile as tracking you, even though it is.
Don't know if that's confirmed, just an assumption.
karkland basically fucked my game, i can't play SP without the world disppearing leaving only a sky before it crashes, most of the new maps can crash instantly or never at all. All the older maps work fine though.. latest drivers etc.. gg sigh

They don't give a sound afaik, since they foolishly nerfed the stinger/strela so no one uses them, they instead use the buffed SOFLAM in combination with the JAV, you won't know it's coming until it hits and even if you did you can't flare it off (ECM should break the SOFLAM lock). I think they will undo the nerf to the stinger/strela and stop the JAV from locking SOFLAM targets next patch. But since that would be common sense there are no guarantees!
I wouldn't say stingers are useless, but they are substantially less effective. I guess the question is how easily do the developers want choppers to be destroyed because on Wake Island any chopper will attract about 12 stingers at once, not to mentioned 2 jets on their ass.

Whenever I'm playing a Wake Island map, the US will get a Viper chopper up with 2 guys repairing on either side, and 2 guys shooting with the guns. Practically unstoppable.
It may seem unstoppable, I assure you when you are repairing it and continually being shot out it doesn't seem all that unstoppable, and with poor gunners doesn't seem worth the life losses. You need a lot to go right for it to work
But its not hard to put fire on those guys in the gunner positions and the extra seats.. Hell a tank shell to the open door should hurt the dudes alot...

I have been using P90 with supressor and straight out rape the map. Best gun in the game for close quarters. Hit 38/12 last night just running around randimly.
i've been playing a nice spread of the classes lately, been smashing the g53 the last day or so though, it's brought be back to my fall black class when things aren't going well
i really like the range of the assault rifles, that's one thing that's been shitting me with the engineer carbines lately.

find that in conquest or whatever you just run for half an hour then get blown up by some wanker in a tank, then having to WAIT to respawn WTF..... alt tab and go do something else while i wait = ghey

Man I get so fucking annoying when I get randomly shot out of vehicles, especially planes and choppers. Getting sniped out I can understand, but random bullets one shotting you while the vehicle is undamaged, so bs.
Also, one time I got sniped out of a tank somehow.

I hate "bad luck" deaths. For some reason they happen to me quite a bit. I'll be flying in a helo....next thing I know I fall out dead. No one has shot me or anything. Didn't get team swapped. Just says bad luck... Sometimes I'm running along and it happens. Happens when I use the mortar too. Not sure what the go is with that.
I also hate it when you jump out of a vehicle for whatever reason, and it puts you on the ONLY side where you'll die instantly from something. Also, I once got out of a moving jeep with no one else in it, and it put me in front of it, and it ran me over.
I'm really enjoying it. I only just started playing after having a rig built for it. I've joined a team/clan with some old BF friends in it and we are waiting for the GA ladder to get started. The more i get into it, the better it is.
Had a guy completely ruin a server the other day, had an aimbot+wallhack, he just stood in his spawn and instakilled everyone on the other team when we spawned. Fucking tard had 50 kills in as many seconds, killed a really good server too :( I was 60-10 the previous round :/
Been playing a heap of wake/sharqi only servers, so much fun. I've noticed I get more enjoyment out of the 24 player servers then the 64 player ones, due to being able to actually see people, and actually accomplish teamwork.
I hate metro, it's just a stat pad arena. Though I haven't played the vanilla maps since B2K came out. Way more open and battlefield, and also allows for close encounters when need be.
I racked up a 1.355km headshot with the m98 on Wake Island last night, just edging out my previous best of 1.335km
total fluke, I was running to get a chopper and some asshat spawned closer + took off without me, so I scope down to the Airfield and see my prey running to that hill off to the left of the hangars, he prones and I line up my shot
Anyone else getting disconnected in single player and Multiplayer? I get DC'd from both and the game manager window says "something went wrong". Its not very helpful. Only thing I can think of is the new replacement video card I got. Its the same model GTX570 but it looks different to my original GTX570. Could be a newer revision maybe.
Anyone having issues with rubberbanding, latency spikes, & jet-seat turbulance?
My FPS is rarely below 60, IGO Time (is this ping?) is around 30-40, but occasionally it spikes to 150+
It seems when my player comes in contact with another object (i.e. building, doorway, tank) I rubber band hardcore.
Current machine has been handling this game fine, even on my ADSL 1 service it was reasonable. I've now got cable 3.0 and its worse than ever. (speedtest records me at 46Mbps/2Mbps which incidently is the same my flatmate was getting on his laptop through wifi)
I've set up port forwarding. I have a direct connection to the router through a 15metre CAT6 cable. I've updated everything and i've even browsed the battlelog for comments/fixes. Most people are pointing to the latest patch release as the cause of the problem.
SO... anyone else have similar problems or can offer me a possible solution?
Anybody out there got some useful resource information on Battlefield3? I'm looking for some expert hints and tips, the kind you'd get in clan matches. y'know? Specifically console but it doesn't matter entirely. I've been using the damage charts pre patch for the guns and load outs, checking both the EA battlefield forums and the battlelog forums(console) which are full of little kids whining.
lol. Back in my days of COD 4/5 pub pwnage i loved those charts. Awesome for knowing the technical differences between weapons in game, and in particular range.
the patch has fucked my main gun. The qbb95 now has far too much initial kick. It's going to take a lot of re-learning. I use to rapidly fire it in short bursts, now i need to hold it down and when pointed at a group it doesn't seem to have as much effect.
I try and stick to the air maps only, seems to be a lot more fun and jumping in a Venom with mates is hilarious. Though lately I've been joining those Metro servers that are knives/pistols only for something different.

just installed.. was 92% through downloading the 4.5gb patch and my internets capped out... called telstra and got bumped to next cap and the guy said he could do it straight away.. origin craps itself and requires a restart destroying the files. 8% through now... hope this game is fun
Is it just me or is BF3 in decline. I've noticed over the easter weekend, that apart from 1 or 2 servers there's basically not many full 64 player servers. Or is the trend now 48 and below?
Holy fucking shit if this game does not run like complete fucking crap. It takes me about 4 attempts to get into a game and even then half the time it's pot luck whether it's running at 0.5fps or the normal 50fps I get and Origin.exe always seems to be using > 75% CPU for no reason.

When I first played this style of game (BF2) I was like omg amazing jizz in my pants but then BC2 came out and then BF3 and it's starting to be all much the same now.. Previous to BF2 I was playing Quake, CS, SOF2 which started getting boring as I was playing those style games since 1995/96?. Then the battlefield style of games started coming out and comepletely rebooted my enthusiasm in gaming, (but now the battleield style games are starting to get boring). So I'm wondering now what the future holds for us in terms of gaming and keeping us (or just me it seems) interested in gaming and giving me that jizz in my pants wow factor.

Hey is anyone experiencing not so random disconnects at the moment? Like all the fucking time? Seriously, me and 2 mates managed about 3 full rounds out of about 3 hours of gaming last night. And it wasn't just us getting disconnected, it was sometimes the whole server and sometimes maybe 10 people...
Then you would get the very helpful "You were disconnected from EA online" or "something went wrong" message just to make you feel better. Even got a new error message i hadn't seen before. "Cannot reconnect to server because it's not there any more" Dafuq??
Anyone else having dramas...? Fuck i was ragining last night, repaired install, checked drivers, all good... but it can't be my end cause others are copping it too...
Yeah last night i ninja jumped down and stabbed this bloke and just as his tags come up, the whole server died.
Other times i remember, it crashed within 5 seconds of me spawning in, crashed about 10 minutes into a round, crashed at end of round, crashed at about 5 tickets left...
Must be server end, cause it seems to effect everyone at the mo.
Had the game freeze a fair bit since patch. (console) Almost always happens when I'm thrashing the chopper around destroying shit, you notice the fps drop and eventually it will freeze during a large explosion or on post game screen. Memory leak issue? Also, since patch I've had a random friend on PSN show up in my BattleFeed.
mines running fine. sure it struggles slightly on my gtx280 but overall it is stable. sometimes i will get booted from a server with the explanation "Something went wrong."
Got a lovely 21-3 with 5238 points last night on Kharg Island. Heaps of full servers now, and especially loving the pistol/knive only servers for Metro, makes it a lot more interesting.
When ever I try to join a game fist up after loging in. It says "initalizing" when I try to connect to a server, BF3 starts up but does nothing so I have to close it manually. Aside from that its all good. I should have a go at the pistol knife servers.
The increased suppression effect has turned me off it. I get so pissed off when there is some noob in the distance spraying the sky with bullets and there I am, sitting completely still and firing exactly on the fuckers head but my bullets are going everywhere because oh noes bullets are so scary.
I got premium, finally got the bigass patch plus close quarters downloaded last night. I also went the noob route and paid to win and bought the unlocks for a couple of classes. I know I'm just contributing to the problem, but I wanted more guns to play with :(
i still just play with the m60e and AS VAL.. i have found by using the m60 so much and its spastic recoil when i use other weapons now im very accurate.
Blade i get that a fair bit too mate. I used Origin to verify install a couple of times and it seems to help. I still get it from time to time, but then so do most of my mates.
Everytime I go to play bf3, it fails to load on the first go. I have to wait for it to open, try, close, then try again, hoping the server is not now full. grr.
Same here, it'll take about 3 goes loading before i can get in. Usually unknown error or it just disappears.
Once it gets into game tho, it never seems to have any further loading issues joining another server after that.
Yesterday, i had to turn off origin all together and let BL fire it up again when i joined server. It just would not load game at all untill i did that for some reason... Would say loading, but no BF3 loading window would come up and it would just sit there loading in BL but not loading BF3... LAME... sigh, origin is so much fail.
CQ is not too bad, change of pace. I used to have issues with games not loading a lot. Not so much any more though, no idea why. Try repairing your installation, if that does not work, update punkbuster, update video drivers, prey to the dark gods etc.
Origin is not that great, I don't know why they are trumpeting it as something that can beat steam. Sure give it 3-5 years it might be OK but I would think they would have learned things where steam went wrong and troubles they have had over the years.
Ive found the best way to get hackers banned is to record them in game and upload to youtube with a private link and then report them through battlelog while providing the private link. I have got 2 people (ip?) banned this way and havent seen them online after a few days
