Has anyone used intkeys dot com? If so did you have any issues? or do you know a better site?
|
yep, no problems. i've used quite a few russian key sites, all work fine. Lots of people dubious of them simply because they're "russian" but i had no problems.
can't beat the latest and greatest games for $25 ~

From what I can see it's a Swiss company.

My experiences:
directgamekeys: multiple purchases, no problem, fast.
cdkeys: one purchase, no problem.
cdkeyshere: one purchase, no problem, fast.
cjs-cdkeys: one purchase ok (very delayed!), subsequent purchases terrible (out of stock + ignores emails), avoid!

Fucking hell, so I took a chance on intkeys and just got me key for BF3, installer shows up in Russian. I'd be less pissed if I had not asked an intkeys staff member directly if it was region/language locked, he said no so I ordered it. There is apparently a way to fix it, replacing some localization files or some shit but I don't really trust that shit.
Don't use intkeys.

What did you expect Trauma? Your getting the game cheap. Just change the registry files and your sweet.

Looking at the Intkeys BF3 page, it says clearly that it's Russian. Read more carefully in future?
*EDIT* Just ordered through Intkeys, if anyone was thinking of doing likewise this code will get you 5% off: e0ab2639a1

Yea they changed it, did not say that when I ordered, again I asked a staff member directly. It's also not specified in the invoice e-mail, I simply got scammed, oh well, I took a chance and never will again.
Edit: Here is the google cache.
Take note of the region/language info listed, does not get any more clear cut than that.

Heh, yeah you got boned. Do you know how to change the language? It's a two step process. CJ's have a video and links to the required files:

Yea I read about that, just not so trusting atm. I've requested a refund but honestly I'd be shocked if I got any response at all. I'll hold off a bit and see how things go.

Yea real awesome, shifts 2/3 of it's BF3 keys while advertising them as multi language just to change it on release.

Does it matter Trauma? You still get the game in working order, and only need to change some registry keys.

Have you tried getting the key to actually work though? Cause if you give it a shot, you've saved a bit of money.

Just mention a CC refund is about to be initiated.
That usually gets their attention ...

I'm not interested in applying a language fix, I want what I ordered.

I got their attention, just waiting for a reply from what appears to be the owner.

You're stubborn then. I'd rather just hack the registry and change the language already and get on with it.
I understand where you're coming from..... but is it worth the hassle?

::EDIT:: I looked at your google cache of the page and it says AT THE BOTTOM: "Language change tutorial" and has a link.
::EDIT 2:: I've also bought from Intkeys and not had any issue, so I'd recommend 'em.
There are plenty of BF3 english packs you can DL out there, so you didn't get scammed.
Also, the $37 key was a UK Key, I believe. The russian ones were closer to $25 I think (Atleast on CJS).
It's also possible that the keys were thought to be multi-language but when they were testing them on release, found that they were language restricted.
I know a few key websites that were unsure about languages until launch.

Bit of a bump there bro. All those cd key sites are fine, when you get the key. If your unlucky like half their customers, you won't see a key for awhile because they take too many pre-orders regardless of their stock.

That google cache has now been replaced with a more recent version, they changed it the day of release to say it was russian. Hence there was no language changer tutorial.
This is how it looked when I pre-ordered.

In case you somehow missed this, I'll fill you in. I didn't buy a russian version.

Ah bloke, that whole situation totally sucks :C.
I've gotten one game off cdkeysdirect, and that was Space Marine. Zero issues. Felt seriously dodgey applying a CDkey i read off a jpg, but it worked (a steam key). Though it wasn't advertised as anything but a English only version. Just not willing to touch anything that is region specific in the eastern block. If it says Russian or w/e I'm happy to give it a miss. Space Marine was $89 on steam and i got it for $25. More of an opportunists market i think. Best of luck in your endeavors to get a refund <3.

more effort than fixing the files.
(I think this is what spook is saying too, he's not doubting you bought english, he's saying that who gives a fuck if it came in russian if it's a 20 second fix that you could have done quicker than posting 8 replies, taking screenshots and getting angry)

Intkeys BF3 works fine, but they royally fucked up with their Arkham City on GFWL sales. Neglected to mention you'd need the game DVDs to install the actual content. They told me (after receiving the key) that the best way for me to install it was to "borrow the CDs from a friend who bought the game.", not helpful :/

Hahaha yea they sent me the BF3 keys before letting me know it was a russian and not the multi-language key that I ordered. They of course say they can't help you because you already have the key.

Intkeys and similra sites seems to be a case of, dont buy from them until a few days after launch. No one knows what a particular games region locking behaviour before launch, so if you buy on day 1 there's no telling what value the CD key may or may not have.

I'm not sure what you're so angry about, the version you got isn't region or language locked just like the staff member said. You CAN play it in Australia and you CAN change the language, what's the problem?

Yes it is.... it's a Russian only key. I'm not Russian. I don't want to use a language patch to get it in english, also with each game patch a new language patch is needed. There was another update today and right there are people on intkeys support asking for the updated language patch, I don't want to have to wait for such crap each time the game is updated.

In other words, "I tried to pull a swift one and pay less than retail price for goods and when it didn't go quite according to plan, I'm now going to whinge about it".
Either buy the retail version and get the support and known quantity that you've paid for, or buy dodgy and don't be surprised if/when you get burned.

fixt.
I was not too surprised that they pulled this, I did research the site as much as I could and got no clear indication that they were dodgy, now I know they are. I also never asked for your sympathy.

No, you never asked for it, you just whinged and hoped that everyone would feel sorry for you. As for the whole not "further reinforc[ing[ regional pricing", I'd accept that argument if you bought it from somewhere in the US etc, rather than trying to find the cheapest, dodgiest site you can out of Russia.

I see his point though. He paid $44 for a key that should have not been russian instead of going super cheap and paying less than $25 for a russian key. Id be pissed if i paid the extra cash n got the cheap key instead.

Stupid question but what does a "russian only key" mean? Does it come up with a message saying you can't play it because you're not in russia? Or does it just turn all the writing in the game into russian but otherwise it still works here? Just in case I decide to try this shit.
|

if you buy a russian key, you need to install the russian version of the game.
after you've done that, its like 2 seconds to apply an english patch, to switch it back to english.

Or with russian steam keys you need a VPN to use a russian server (they often link to a free trial) to log in to steam using the VPN to activate the key and then it normally allows you to install in english.
With the russian origin keys, you do need to download english audio files that last count were approx 1gb.
The russian steam/origin keys are cheaper than standard english keys and require a little more work - your choice.

Tried to get Skyrim from them, long story short, they had to refund everyone as it was region locked so they couldn't get it working. This was on release of 11/11/11. Took them a while to refund as well. Will not use them again.

To be fair, bethesda never said they were region locking those keys and it's (apparently) the first time they've done it for one of their games.
I got a refund for my key, took a small while, but it's only like 2-3 guys working for 200+ customers (possibly) part-time.
Btw, I just bought another 2 games from them just fine.
|
the russian key thing has only come to bite me in the ass with BF3, i have to change the language manually each time the game is patched.
Oh well.

Yeah that wasn't their fault. Bethesda pulled a swift one and region locked their keys.
