Yep you heard correct. You can now start pre-installing L4D2 for it's November 18 release.

Oh and updates for the demo are out also.

This would have to be one of the most unappealing suggestions ever.

I may as well pre-install it from iinets 3FL servers.

I'm incredibly pumped this game, VS. is going to be absolute carnage.

This game is great. I've been playing L4D since last year, and the demo for L4D2 really shows that it is a superior game. I, of course, bought via Steam UK after getting a refund for my Australian Censored version.

The censored version was absolutely sterile and unenjoyable. The actual version is great. Preloading now.

And for 38 bucks Australian (4 pack with 10% discount) it is an absolute steal.

In multiplayer terms I think that Scavenge mode looks better than regular versus.

Nothing beats going through the co-op campaigns on expert for the first time though.

I think L4D2 will really shine when humans are playing the infected.

Survivors are going to have a MUCH harder time with the inclusion of the rolling crescendo's and new special infected. I bet people won't get bored so quick when they are forced to stay on the move and can't resort to closet/corner camping.

Same goes for playing infected, so many more options avaliable, it seems entirely possible to do large damage without needing a 3 or 4 player coordinated strike. It's going to rock using the spitter when they're all bunched up in a room, or getting a straggler during a rolling crescendo and suddenly all hell breaks loose.

If you're with internode ALL australian content servers are quota free, not just node.

Pretty much. I find it is just less irritating. Simple to turn on and off. Maybe I had steamwatch setup incorrectly but the process would always be on even when I thought I turned it off.

What or who is 3FL?

And what do you mean any steam content from Australia is free quota whether you're with internode...? How many steam servers to internode have?

Internode don't count any Steam content you download from any Australian servers, even non-Internode ones. So, if you connect to a 3FL or iiNet content server, it wont come off your quota.

Yet we've only seen the fixes working/not-working/working on the demo version.

I'm waiting round to see what happens to the full version in the long-term before buying.

Wrote myself a little steam content filter this morning out of boredom and wanting to tinker with EasyHook. Doesn't use ipsec like frey's one, it injects a hook into the winsock connections steam makes and filters them by ip.

http://eggsampler.com/SteamHaxOGC.zip

Only tried it on w7 x64 with .net 3.5, but might work for others.
Edit: Source is included if anyone is interested.
