I would consider a 590 as it is shorter but I am going to borrow a mate's tomorrow and test it out for heat issues, although I think it would be fine I am kinda iffy because I will be loosing some speed at 1440p gaming.

West Australians only (sorry guys I cbf with postage and while I do want to change my card it does work fine without the case on and some spacers wedged in for now, I just dislike having the fan at 50% constantly)

Well here I am, silly boy who traded in his two 6970's to get a 6990 two months ago now thinking it would make my case cooler over summer (you know, one card rather than two... Which would have been fine if it didn't physically touch my hard drive cage (transference of heat from the card's backplate to the drivecage. That and the case is a fractual case, sure I put in 3 extra nocta fans but the point remains that the case is a hotbed and the card will not be able to run it without taking off the sides of my case r_r)

Anyway 6970s while they did run at 75degrees in load during summer in this case, they never got to the 90degree point (which is what happened one hot day before I decided to take off the sides of the case, now it is down to 70-80 with aircon on in the house r_r)
