well and truly over it, bugs and menu load times are an absolute joke
rfactor LFS and iracing remain unchallenged, and i know what im talking about
And you're modest too ;P
(all you needed to do was link em to your 'fastest lap' challenges Scoobs.)
Tell me (without derailing this thread I suppose) I've got LFS (and love that for the Drift element, as well as the general community that play it.)
I've considered rFactor, is it worth the $60?
and how about iRacing?, I love the idea, but I'm allergic to subscription based gaming... is it worth the cost (to you)?
yeah I picked up a G27 in the Australia day specials @ logitechshop, $330~ ftw
I'm still into RDR but I'm working on some kind of more permanent/workable solution so I can hook the wheel up properly in my living room
its a PITA unpacking it each time, I can't leave it out because my son chews on the steering wheel ;(
hmmm from the outset, no its not worth spending money on.
LFS is about equal to iracing in terms of accuracy of steering feel, grip levels and weight shift. aka really excellent.
rfactor is not quite as perfect in the physics department but is really great that it allows mods which allow you to learn real world tracks. And also freakin cool cars in different mods: AE86, historic GT, porsche cup and touring car legends.
iracing for some reason just will not run on my current setup. tried for weeks trying to solve it with their useless support staff but apparently no one ever had the same problem i did. stupid browser based game.
so i just play the warez version single player for staying sharp.
My fave car is prob my Audi RS4, I managed to get gold in the pro championship with it but had to tweak the gears a bit to give me a 330kmh top end. Winning that gave me a Bugatti Veyron, modding the engine gives you around 1,200 bhp but the problem is it's fucking hard as hell to keep straight :(.
Prior to the RS4 the Mitsu 3000GT got me through a few races and prior to that it was the MX5, easist car in the game to control :).
I am currently unable to complete one of the earlier races for the damn fact that I can't find a ute availble for sale :(.
Yeah I love my RS4 more than my other ones, plenty of power and easy to grip the track with (Have not done drifting yet, been playing the A spec races only so far), all my other cars seem to kill their tyres after 2 laps :(.
The bugatti is balls quick but way to difficult to control at high speed*, I can top the RS4 out and still have control :).
what hp the rs4 get up 2? i have the rs6 and its pretty nice, has bit over 900hp i think. really wish they had the rs3 :( or even some old school rotars, rx3's or something. + it needs engine swapping like in forza aswell.
Hmmmm, I will have to double check but I think it is late 600's
It most probably is, I like the RS4 because the balance of power and handling is about the best I can control on the game, Any more power and I fail at driving it.
The brakes are well balanced, the power is good, the top end is good and the tires last more than 2 laps. The more powerful cars I have become sloppy after 1 lap of a race due to overheating tires, trying to turn hard under heavy braking then powering out again is difficult in some of the more powerful carsI have when the back tires are shot.
And add to that that I have always had a soft spot for the RS4 in real life :p and they didn't have my own real car in GT5 (Which I do not understand because they have the older GT's in there) so the Audi it was :).
I love this game, my question is how to improve veyrons handling, Also Im going to b***h about lack off Aussie cars, they could have at least included HSV GTS. THey even removed ford's typhoon and gt. I would have been happy with vauxall's version of GTS
"australian ones" commodores and falcons both shit, no one wants to drive them i have an VZ SS and i know there is an AU Falcon supercar ford and holden covered, what more do you want?
More variety is always better. I dont think there was need for 20 skylines and silvias all with same power but they are there.I dont know if you know but AU Falcon is long gone so is VY SS for that matter. we have moved on from GenIII 5.7l. It would have been nice to include mt panorama as well. They included heaps of old and new concepts cars, what about Holdens efijy concept car that has won more awards than half the cars on GT5.
As for the fords and holdens being shit, find a car with 300 plus kw for under$70 000 brand new.
