Hey Guys, Just wondering if anything had made an atari mod's. In particular giving it a video and audio out ports. If so, is it worth doing? Is it hard/easy? I think it might be a fun little project to do. Sorry if there is a similar thread. I'm just new. I had a look around and couldn't find one :p

I know OCAU.com has a retro forum, maybe this question may field more results from there?

Like this perhaps?

There's a few different guides out there to do it, however the easiest is to simply grab an old VCR and hook the 2600 up through that. It's what I do with my ones and it works an absolute treat :)

Are they pretty rare yet? I sure as hell wouldn't be chopping mine up. If I wanted to play the games I'd just hunt for an emulator and keep mine in its glass, vacuum-sealed case, at a constant humidity and temperature.

I don't know if I'd say rare exactly, but there's enough floating around that it's not difficult to replace it if you botch the job.

Mods or Atari's? You can still pick them up from about $20 off ebay this is a bit of an increase considering 5 years ago people where giving them away for free. As for Mod's I know no one in Australia that has one, but granted I've only just got back into classic gaming.

Thanks for all those links :)

Yeah darkjedi , that's what I do as well. I want to do it not out of necessity or even convenience as much just to see IF i can do it :p

Check out this great Atari Tron Mod :p
