Omaha Beach: Longest Day is an attempt to capture the spirit - and possibly needless tragedy - of Omaha Beach within Battlefield 1942. While the original game included an Omaha Beach module, it was widely felt that map did not reflect accurately the conditions that faced the troops that day so many years ago. No map could truly justify the horrors that took place on Omaha Beach, or the sacrifices that were made by American soldiers that day, nor could we hope to map with 100% accuracy all the defenses and fortifications that were part of Germany's great Atlantic wall. But we hope this map, and the additional maps that will follow (starting with Juno beach), will create an experience that is more true to what Omaha Beach was really like.
