Description:
1. What do I need to watch matches?
a) Call Of Duty with latest patch
b) CoDTV Client - download the latest version at the downloads section of this webpage
c) Microsoft dotNET Framework - you may get it from http://www.windowsupdate.com

2. Once I get everything installed, how do I watch a match?
a) Open CoDTV Client
b) In Configuration tab, browse to codmp.exe - the Main folder should now be selected in the dropdown menu
c) In the View tab, paste the URL of the broadcasted match and hit start(the URL will be posted in irc when the match starts). Cod will start up automatically when buffering is complete - make sure there is no space before or after what you pasted.

the following is a test URL you can try to do a dry run of your client: http://www.codtv.org/demos/CLIENT_TEST.dm_2

3. What if I get disconnected in the middle of watching a match?
-close everything(you may need to ctrl-alt-delete out of the client)
-start over doing the same instructions that made it work the first time including the config tab, and it will resume automatically where you left off

4. How does CoDTV Work?
-A cameraman joins the game as a spectator. He then records a demo of everything he sees and uploads it to a webserver using the CoDTV Camera Tool. clients who wish to watch get the demo from the webserver via the Client Tool. They see whatever the cameraman sees.
CoDTV Camera Tool IS NOT A SERVER SIDE PROGRAM LIKE HLTV

5. What do I need to be a cameraman?
a) Call of Duty
b) CoDTV Camera tool(which is not available to the public)
c) FTP access to a webserver that can handle the strain and bandwidth(about a gigabyte per match).
d) You do not need an outstanding connection. if you can upload 8-10 kb/s, that is plenty. most broadband connections do about 40 kb/s.
If you have the resources, time, and professionalism, stop by in #CoDTV and talk to MrPuck about being a cameraman.

6. Can Clients free spectate?
No, this is a consequence of the way CoDTV works. It is not possible unless IW releases the source code to the CoDTV programmer, which they most likely will never do.

7. Is there a CoDTV server program?
No, the Cameraman runs the camera tool on his own computer. There will never be a server program for the same reason as listed in #6.
i repeat: CoDTV Camera Tool IS NOT A SERVER SIDE PROGRAM LIKE HLTV

8. How much delay is there?
3 minutes, a full round, so cheating by having clanmates watch the stream is not possible

9. How do I sync CoDTV with Radio Shoutcasts?
a) start CoDTV then window it
b) start the Shoutcast streaming
c) listen for a time marker - casters often give out times (***** at them in IRC if they don't :P)
d) as soon as you hear a time mark, pause the Shoutcast
e) watch the CoDTV until the match time is almost at the mark, say 2-3 secs, then unpause the Shoutcast.
f) you should be close to in sync now
g) you can add small delays by pausing/unpausing until sync is perfect, but don't let the SC get behind the CoDTV or you'll need to start all over.

10. How do I view the scores if tab doesnt work?
-in console, type /bind "F4" " scores"
-you can now view the scores by pressing F4, but it only works between rounds

11. When are CoDTV URL's released?
cammers do not release the URL until the match starts - currently they are being given out in #codtv on gamesurge or #codtv.org in quakenet

12. What if I get an error when i paste the url and hit start? (HTTPQueryInfo error)
Check to make sure there are no spaces before or after what you pasted as this is the most common error. If this is not the case, then the demo file does not exist at that location.

13. What if I hit start and it just says "buffering..." forever?
-you are supposed to see a percentage of how much you have buffered
-if not, this most likely means you forgot to set up your configuration tab, which you need to do every time you open the client, as saving your config doesnt work in beta.

14. What if I get Buffering 100% and CoD Doesn't Start? or What if I get NaN% Buffered?
You need to restart your CoDTV Client. You may need to ctrl-alt-delete out of the old one. Don't forget your config tab when you get it back up.

15. Where can I find old CoDTV demos?
Please do not download any demos while a match is going on. http://www.garetgg.com/codtv/
http://www.codtv.org/demos/
http://www.klan-phase.com/mrpuck/
http://www.team-emazing.com/codtv/
