AusGamers brings you a comprehensive guide to finding the cheapest deals this Black Friday. As the year begins to wind down towards Christmas, chaos ensues as we come upon the day known as Black Friday. An American tradition, Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving, where we see places like Walmart slash prices to an all-year low, causing people to go crazy and hunger for these cheap deals.
While the world keeps on spinning, many digital and retail outlets also begin their sales, with various AAA to indie titles becoming so cheap you won’t know what to do with your wallet. This year we see a large rise in sales across stores, so instead of getting lost under the mountains of cheap video games, we’ve decided to create a guide on where to find the best deals, but also those that may be slightly hidden from sight. Retail Outlets (all in Australian Dollar): EB Games are currently beginning their Christmas sales, with various cheap titles both in-store and on their digital frontline, so here are just some of the games you’ll be able to pick up for under $60: Digital Outlets (all in Australian Dollar): Steam is currently running their Autumn Sale 2012, with various discounts throughout the store including featured Daily Deals, Flash Deals and Indie Deals for the cheapest sales. Keep an eye on AusGamers front-page each day leading up to the 27th of November for the most up-to-date deals, however here are just some of the hidden gems: Green Man Gaming is also running a Winter Sale which features a 25% voucher for those eager to keep on saving. With some hefty discounts on big names like Dishonored and XCOM: Enemy Unknown, it’s definitely a great place to check out. The sale currently has a 25% voucher (GMG25-G4VDR-0ZL4Q) running alongside which can net yourself some seriously cheap games: Among retailers, publishers and developers are also having their Black Friday or early Christmas sales either in-game or on a store front. We’ve got a quick list of just who and what are selling cheap at the moment, but if you spot anything else don’t hesitate to add a comment letting us know. Guild Wars 2 – ArenaNet are currently holding a Black Friday sale this weekend for various items in their Gem Store, which you can access in-game via the O button. Among the deals include bulk purchases of Black Lion Chest Keys, Transmutation Stones and more. Battle.net – Blizzard are currently offering StarCraft 2 and Diablo 3 at a low price of $19.99 and $39.99 respectively, which you can find via their Blizzard Store. Xbox Live Marketplace – Microsoft are currently holding their own Black Friday deal on the Xbox Live Marketplace, with titles like Mass Effect 3: Leviathan DLC for 400 points, Quantum Conundrum for 600 points and Forza Horizon October Car Pack for 200 points. While this isn’t a full list of what is on sale this weekend, if you do spot any cheap titles that we haven’t covered, let us know in the comments. Enjoy the sales, and remember to let your wallet breathe at some point.
