AusGamers brings you all the information regarding EA's TGS 2009 line-up. Read on for more details... AusGamers is currently sitting through the TGS 09 Pre Show press event, opening with a video of a brand new DS game called "Whirlwind", featuring a ninja character in a cartoonish Legend of Zelda style visual presentation, the game looks incredible for the system and features stealth, action, platforming and exploration. If you enjoyed the aforementioned comparison, this will definitely get you excited. Due for release in Japan Spring next year with no mention of US, Europe or Aus release as of yet. Great to see a new IP like this from EA.
Check the game page here. Next up is FIFA 10, we're not seeing anything new in regards to details, however, the European ad shown was cool - stay tuned for that one in our video library. Army of Two kicks off next with an immediate live demo from the EA Montreal dev team. As you would expect the key here is co-op. Features include an option to Feign Death as well as Tag enemies for your partner. Cover is important again with the option to utilise it portably. Loot enemies for cash and wepaons (cash being used to deck out your character). AI has been much improved along with the introduction of 'heavy' enemies - basically badass enemy characters. You'll need to utilise 'aggro' in order to work as a team. There's also a new weapon customisation tool which we'll look at later. Dead Space Extraction will be the series' first introduction in Japan with the first game puzzlingly not being released here, the home of the Survival Horror videogame. The key here is expanding the story so fans of the first wanting more who own a Wii or are potentially looking to buy one might be keen on this. We're watching a trailer we've already seen, but stay tuned for a more detailed hands-on report soon. Fans of the MySims series can look forward to MySims Agents for Wii and DS. Players will take control of a secret agent and complete puzzles and explore to uncover a mystery. Definitely one for the younger crowd, but it looks like it's a much more involved MySims experience than previous iterations. Need For Speed Nitro is up next and stands as a clear representation the Wii is an accessible platform with our developer using his son and his mother as examples of non-hardcore gamers he's seen using the game with success. However, they haven't forgotten hardcore gamers and there is apparently a fair amount of depth, especially for racing fans with Drifting and a deep Career Mode that sees you racing across the likes of Madrid, Singapore and Dubai. Left 4 Dead 2. Level designer Kim Swift presents the title, and offers mostly info we've already heard including day and day releases of Challenge Maps and an October 27 demo. We're going to try to catch up with Kim later today to grill her about the current Aussie debacle, so stay tuned. Dante's Inferno reveal: Lust. 1. Rightousness. 2. Epic Boss Battles. 3. Puzzles. The first comes in the form of deciding to absolve or condemn the damned throughout the game, decisions of which will effect powers, upgrades and the strength of your scyth or cross. Awesome enemy and level design, naked and messed up characters (well it is 'Lust' afterall. Cleopatra is the boss and creepy baby enemy characters literally spawn from her nipples! More on this soon. Karl Magnus Troedsson from DICE is up next to show off Bad Company 2. 15 drivable vehicles are in the game and not only tanks but helicopters, buggies and more. destruction 2.0 from a modified Frostbyte engine - you can now level buildings or simply chip away at the environment to create a more tactical experience. 40+ weapons, 4 Player Classes, 15 Grenade types and what DICE are saying will be the best online multiplayer experience for PC and Console in 2010. From what we've just seen, we're inclined to agree. Stay tuned for more. That's it for the presentation of games. Stay tuned for more TGS 09 coverage right here on AusGamers. |
