Sadly this does not make the "regular" beta cheap, however, as buying access will come at the cost $75.00 USD. The price isn't entirely steep though when you consider that the purchase also includes future beta phases and the eventual release of the game.
The Beta phase has now started with many significant additional features. There are now 55 star systems covering 38,000 cubic light year. Player to player communication by voice and text, friends management and matchmaking. Private group and online single player options. Fuel consumption and docking computers for safe star port landings. Plus an overview of trade route mapping and the beginnings of online mission systems.Frontier Developments calls the beta a "significant milestone" in development of the space combat sequel, and offer a new beta trailer to show it off.

ArcheAge's second closed beta weekend will begin July 31st at 3:00AM AEST, and will run through to August 5th. Like the first closed beta weekend, the game will be pretty much open to entire exploration, though Trion's work on Westernising the game is still underway so expect some bugs and glitches.
ArcheAge is expected to launch on Western shores sometime later this year as a free-to-play MMO. To find out what our community thought of the past weekend's event check out the forum post over here.

For those not fortunate enough to be in attendance, the whole thing was live-streamed and the recording can now be viewed by way of the official PlayStation Youtube channel, embedded below (there's a half hour of standby at the start, so skip to 29:49 for the show opening).
The event was orchestrated to promote today's launch of The Last of Us Remastered on the PlayStation 4, but its just a fitting tribute in general to a memorable game. That said, if you have yet to play The Last of Us, most of the scenes probably won't make too much sense, and you'd do well to avoid it for spoilers anyway.

For Australian residents we'll be gaining access to the single-player expansion's second wing come 4:59PM AEST this afternoon, with New Zealand fans gaining access at 6:55PM NZST. Unlike the launch of the first wing last week, the Arachnid Quarter, that was free to anyone who logged in within a months time, the remaining four sections will only be available for in-game gold or real-world money purchases.
Coming in the Plague Wing will be three new bosses, their unique rewards plus the class and heroic challenges. Pricing for each of the next four wings will be either a 700 gold in-game cost or real-world cost of $8.99. Blizzard will also offer three packages depending on the amount of wings you own: $18.99 AUD for those owning the first two wings and want to buy the remaining three and $12.99 AUD for those who own the first three wings and want to buy the remaining two.

According to the announcement, Gnar is Teemo’s and the other yordles' ancestor that was frozen in true ice and has now escaped into the game. Gnar’s defining trait is switching between his mini and mega forms, which is his passive ability, Rage Gene, rather than an active ability.
To get into his Mega form, Gnar’s rage meter must charge. This can be done more quickly by using abilities and engaging in combat, but it will also charge more slowly when Gnar is not in combat. While in mega form, Gnar’s rage meter will slowly drain and he’ll revert back into Mini Gnar. There is one caveat to his mega form, in that by changing you'll become much slower in movement speed, so be careful not to throw out abilities too quickly or else you might find yourself not available for team fights.
As a tank, Mega Gnar uses burst damage, slows, and stuns to help in teamfights, while Mini Gnar is the “more fragile form” and relies on mobility for survival. For the full run down of his abilities including visual guides, check out the official page.

Valve's number crunchers came out with a new win today as well, noting that this year's International had "well over 2 million" peak concurrent viewers, more than double of what was seen last year. Helping gain those streamers was the ability to watch the tournament pretty much anywhere, with streams running through Steam, streaming service Twitch and even in the actual game. As a first for the eSports series, the game was also watchable through American channel ESPN.
While it is an impressive number for Valve, it seems Riot Games' League of Legends is still the winner. A chief competitor to Dota 2, LoL brought in 32 million viewers with its Season 3 Championship in 2013. The eSports event had 8.5 million peak concurrent viewers, according to Riot's numbers.
To put the eSports events into a more 'real life' perspective, Polygon notes that this year's Super Bowl drew in a crazy 111 million television viewers, with an estimated 2.3 million streaming online. While we may not get to those numbers anytime soon for eSports, its still amazing to see numbers as high as 20 or 32 million eagerly watching champions battle it out.

Engadget), who have torn open and modified an ATM to play the classic first-person shooter utilising the machines controls.
Software-wise this hack isn't exactly a difficult feat, with a majority of ATMs like the one featured in the video below running Windows XP. That isn't to say it wasn't easy though, with the team requiring custom software and hardware, including a circuit board that would interpret typical ATM deposit commands into demon slaying.
Check it out in action below, though you'll notice that the ATM hack still has a fair way to go, with the number pad and side buttons still needing mapping. The group also mention the possibility of using the receipt printer, though the odds of getting that working are probably rather slim.

On the Xbox One front, gamers have two titles to choose from: Crimson Dragon and Strike Suit Zero: Director's Cut. Sadly, it looks like Xbox 360 fans are getting the better deal with dystopian steampunk stealth title Dishonored coming to the platform's program, alongside Motocross Madness.
Not a terrible selection of games this time round, especially with Dishonored leading the charge on Xbox 360. Will you be jumping in on these deals? Let us know in the comments!

The interview takes a good look at the two characters that the actor and actress play, including reminiscing on some of the more heated moments that the two shared while acting out scenes. The best bit is when Johnson talks about recording a heated scene with a different actor going up for the Joel part, giving us a glimpse into how motion-capture can get emotional, and quick. The video also touches on the very enjoyable "alternate" ending - if you've not seen that in full, that footage is waiting for you below along with the interview.

UK actor Rupert Friend (best known for his role as CIA Agent Peter Quinn in TV drama Homeland) is the latest thespian to wear the iconic barcode-clad bald head and business attire, replacing the late Paul Walker, who had originally been cast in the role. Agent 47 was previously played by Timothy Olyphant (Justified, Deadwood) some seven years ago in the studio's first attempt at a film adaptation.
Polygon has gotten a hold of a couple of stills of Friend wearing his Hitman garb and akimbo Silver Ballers, and some other less interesting information about the supporting characters played by Zachary Quinto (Star Trek Into Darkness, Heroes) and Hannah Ware (Betrayal).
Hitman: Agent 47 is due in theatres on Feb 27 2015.

The list appeared on Sony's official Gamescom.4theplayers.de site, where it was noticed by NeoGAF. Hours later, the list was then removed. Also mentioned was missing in action PlayStation 3 adventure Until Dawn - a pulpy teen horror title shown off at Gamescom 2012 for PlayStation Move.
Sony has yet to confirm the PlayStation 4 releases for any of the above obviously, so we'll have to wait for the official word come August 12th when Sony is scheduled to go live with their press conference.
